Studies & Practices

Institute studies and practices teach psychospiritual concepts and provide tools for personal growth. As such, they are both instructional and experiential.

Institute Studies present occasions for in-depth exploration of individual books from The Soul and Service Trilogy as well from contributing disciplines that support living The Clarion Way. Participants may choose Independent Studies for one-on-one study with an Institute Group Leader, or may join a weekly study group. The Institute offers studies in Born to Serve, psychosynthesis, and books of the participant’s choosing. Institute Practices provide ongoing classes in spiritual practices such as meditation, chanting, and Qigong, and are both instructional and experiential. Studies and practices serve to center us and strengthen our connection with our Inner Leader as we begin to dissolve personality obstacles and open to the presence of the Soul.

The Institute views its services as adjuncts to traditional medical and mental health care.  As such, IAS studies and practices are not intended to be psychotherapy, medical therapy or a substitute for either one. Participants and volunteers are required to assume self-responsibility for their well-being by seeking, when appropriate, psychological and medical professional services. As co-partners in the study or practice in which they are enrolled, participants are asked to set intentions, do assignments, respect IAS communication guidelines, and in all ways participate with self-responsibility for their well-being.
